This online workshop supports educators, paraprofessionals, and those working in group settings in maximizing the environment using evidence-based strategies. Classroom management is a skill set required of all teachers across subjects and students. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) offers additional classroom management strategies that may not be directly taught within educational programs. With a focus on group contingencies, ABA strategies can assist in setting individual and group goals, expectations, and consequences.

In a high-demand, high-stress role such as a special educator, identifying methods of lowering stress levels and finding enjoyment in daily activities is vital. Burnout is one of the most common reasons that teachers leave the field (Bosquet, 2012) and directly impacts turnover rate and the need for additional training. Though self-care is not a new topic of interest, applying strategies learned is its own skill set. This training will focus on sharing actionable items based on the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness framework. By learning new applications of strategies, educators can better serve their students and their school systems. 

This course aims to introduce the concept of antecedent interventions and how to utilize different antecedent strategies in practice. By manipulating antecedents effectively, we can be more proactive in increasing desirable behaviors and diminishing challenging behaviors.
